Install and notifications
On Android and on a computer, installation is one button in Chrome. On iPhone and iPad, system notifications arrive only after RACEON is added to the Home Screen from Safari and opened from that icon — not from a browser tab.
This device right now
Open this page from the Home Screen icon when you check iPhone. The lines below update for the browser you are in.
Android and computer
Press the button. Chrome opens the install dialog — confirm it.
iPhone and iPad
- Open RACEON in Safari only. Chrome, Firefox, and Edge on iPhone cannot receive these pushes.
- Tap Share — the square with an arrow pointing up.
- Choose Add to Home Screen. If you see Open as Web App, leave it ON. Off = bookmark that opens Chrome/Safari and never gets push.
- Tap Add, then open RACEON from the new icon. No address bar. If Chrome or Safari opens, delete the icon and add again with Open as Web App on.
- In the app, open Settings → Notifications and turn on Push notifications. Allow when iOS asks. That prompt only appears from the Home Screen app.
- Optional check: iOS Settings → Notifications → RACEON must be Allowed (Lock Screen and Notification Center on).
- Needs iOS 16.4 or newer (Open as Web App toggle appears on iOS 26+).
Safari on Mac
- Open RACEON in Safari.
- To keep it as an app: Share, then Add to Dock. That exists in Safari 17 on macOS Sonoma or newer.
- Push also works in the Safari window itself, without the Dock. Turn on Push notifications in settings and allow them when Safari asks.
How to verify push
- Turn on Push notifications in Settings → Notifications.
- Tap Send test notification on that same page. A banner should appear even while settings are open.
- For a real event: leave RACEON (lock the phone or switch apps). While the app is open in the foreground, normal pushes stay quiet on purpose — the in-app bell handles them.
- If the test never arrives on iPhone, go back to the iPhone steps above. The site must be a Home Screen web app, not a bookmark that opens Chrome.
If notifications still do not arrive
- iPhone opens Chrome or Safari with an address bar: delete the Home Screen icon, open Safari, Add to Home Screen again, open from the icon.
- Focus / Do Not Disturb / Sleep Focus may hide banners — check Control Center.
- Low Power Mode and poor network can delay Apple push by minutes. Wait, then try Send test again.
- Turn Push off and on once in RACEON settings so the device re-subscribes after an expired endpoint.
- On Android, install from Chrome, allow notifications for RACEON, and avoid battery “restricted” for Chrome or the installed app.
